Moderne-2は、Moderneにマイナーチェンジを加えた進化版です。
いくつかの改良とあたらしい機能によって更に使いやすく、
沢山の組版を、小さな活字の細部まで美しく印字できるようになりました。
Moderne-2 is for the evolution that minor changed Moderne for.
By some improvement and new function, it was easy to use it more, and beautiful type printing came to be possible.
木柄も新しくなりました。
Wood handle was replaced with a new one, too.
Moderneと比べてみましょう。
Moderne-2は少し柄が長くなり、全体にひとまわり大きくなりました。
ステンレスボディの仕上げも変わりました。
輝きのあるModerneとはまた違う、静かな雰囲気です。

Moderne-2 becomes tall a little, and it ..whole.. has grown a little.
The texture of the body made of the stainless steel changed, too.
It is the atmosphere that is quieter than Moderne with the brightness.
取り付け部を延長したので、標準の金属柄を装着した時に握りやすくなりました。
ネジの規格は今までと同じく８Mです。ハンドプレスに装着する部分でもあります。

版をひとまわり大きくしました。
ほんの少しの違いですが、手で印字する最適な大きになり、
組版もしやすくなりました。

横ネジの位置と、ネジ径が変わりました。
中に入れた活字の中心を固定できる穴位置になっています。
見えている切欠きは、新しい機能の一部です。

The notch seeing is one of the new functions.
ステンレス製の横ネジは少し太くなりました。
ねじ径1 ㎜の差は、ほんの少しの違いですが、
その効果はすばらしく、しっかり活字を保持します。
The side screw made by stainless steel became 5M from 4M.
The difference of 1mm in diameter is a few differences, but the effect is remarkable and holds printing type well.
この横ねじの力が増えた分、
ねじ山を壊さぬよう、締めすぎに注意してください。沢山の組版を強く締めたい時は、
指できつく締めた後に余っている板をねじ回しとして使いましょう。
半回転と少し～くらいまでで充分です。
Tighten a screw too much, and, please be careful not to break a thread.
After having tightened a side screw with a finger tightly when you want to strongly fix much typesetting, let's use the
remaining board as a screwdriver. Half turns are enough if they turn it.
Moderne-2は、長さの違うステンレス製中心ねじが付属します。
このネジはModerne-2の為に製作しましたが、
ModerneとAntikにも使えるように設計しています。
Center screw made by stainless steel different in the length is included in Moderne-2.
I produced these screws for Moderne-2, but design it to be usable in Moderne and Antik.
どのような組版の時でも、中心ねじで紙やレザーを傷つけぬよう、長短２種類になりました。

横ネジがうまく活字を押せるようになっています。

ライナーは、レザー製品へのプレスをする際、失敗を防ぐ為に作りました。
組版の下に敷き、活字のアンダーラインを確認するための板です。
ライナーの突起をホルダーの両側面に設けた切欠きから確認できます。
